"Hi, I am Kristina Steinert and this is my son Rio.  Up until my junior year of high school, I was in public school.  It just was not working for me.  There were too many distractions.  That is when I chose to stay home and do my work online.  I was very excited to be able to set my own pace.  My son Rio Tyson Steinert was born on April 29, 2005.  That was challenging enough, but with KOLE, I was able to sleep when he slept and do my school work when he was awake.  Most nights that was two or three in the morning.  It was nice to be able to continue my education and still be home to care for my son.  To me KOLE is giving me the chance to finish high school.  Without KOLE, I would have to settle for a GED, or worse, just dropped out.  Now I know I will have a future for me and for my son.  Now I have plans to attend college after graduation this year.  The teachers and staff were there to help support me.  When I was struggling with my last two classes, my teacher was there to encourage me and was always willing to help me when I needed it.  To me it was the best choice I could have made.  Thanks KOLE for being there."

Melissa Deemer

Melissa plans on going to college to be a registered nurse (RN).  After she graduates, she wants to work at either St. Jude’s Children’s Hospital in Denver, or at the Memorial Children’s Hospital in Colorado Springs.  She loves children and helping them in anyway she can, so being a pediatric registered nurse seems to be the best career for her.
